The questions that I asked were a result of my findings from my previous questionnaire. I asked only people aged between Under 18 and 30. I asked fifty people and made sure that I asked an equal amount of males to females. This was to find out who preferred adventure films more, males or females. As well as this I wanted to find out what people considered to be the most important thing when watching a teaser trailer, looking at a magazine front cover or seeing a poster.

The results of my questionnaire show that more males prefer adventure films to females, but the population of females liking adventure films is also very high. The thing that interests most people in a while watching a film is the genre of the film that they are watching 8 out of 25 males preferred genre and 7 out of 25 females preferred it. 7 out of 25 females also preferred the use of costumes and props in a film. When asking what people found most interesting in a teaser trailer 6 out of 25 males answered the pace and editing and 7 out of 25 females prefer to see costumes, props or the location. The fourth question I asked was to find out what people prefer to see in teaser trailer. 8 out of 25 females and 6 out of 25 males said that they preferred to see the main characters and the names of the actors in a teaser trailer. But 6 out of 25 males also said that they prefer to see a variety of camera shots in a teaser trailer.
The fifth question I asked was whether people felt that film posters or billboards had affected their choice of film. 20 out of 25 males agreed that poster advertising had effected their film choice and 18 out of 25 females. To find out what I should include on my poster to please my target audience I asked which they thought was most effective: the image, the film title, the credits or the day of release. 13 males and 14 females said that they thought that the most important thing on a poster was it's image. 23 females and 20 males felt that poster advertising was effective.
I then went on to ask questions about magazine front covers. Question eight asked if magazine front covers had affected their choice of film and the majority of both genders voted 'no', 17 males and 20 females. When asking what is most important on a magazine front cover 15 out of 25 males and 10 females voted that the image was most important. The final question was are magazine front covers an effective use of advertising and 16 out of 25 males and 12 females voted 'yes', but 13 females said 'no', so the female population is divided between whether they think that magazine advertising is effective.
On question seven: 'Do you find poster advertising effective?' I allowed for people to give their comments. I received 13 comments on poster advertising which are:
It widens appeal
It gives the view an interpretation of the film before the trailer
It helps you notice a film that you previously didn’t know about and an eye catching picture can make you interested
Grabs your attention straight away, after seeing the image, you’ll want to read about it if it looks good enough…
Catch my eye when I visit the cinema. Striking images which I like persuade me to see the film
It captures you’re your attention quickly
I don’t really pay much attention to posters
It makes people aware of films
It attracts the viewers depending on what is provided on the image
For most people it reminds them to watch it
Only if done in an inventive way, such as using a wanted poster to advertise a cowboy film
Gets me interested in the film
They are effective, but only sometimes
On question ten: 'Do you find magazine front cover an effective use of advertising?' I allowed for people to give their comments. I received 12 comments on poster advertising which are:
Widens appeal
It depends on the object being advertised as for a certain target audience it would be effective, however, for others it wouldn’t
I don’t really look at them so I can’t really say, but I think billboards and bus posters are more effective as they are bigger and eye catching because a magazine would just get all buried around all magazines
Visual advertisement is usually best, I think
When skimming across magazines in a shop, one with a striking image on a actor you like on will make you read it
Not many people read magazines and cannot be sure everyone/most people will see them, like they do with billboards and adverts
I don’t care about advertising
I hardly ever look at magazines
A lot of people don’t read them, but it depends on whether the reader chooses to pay attention to the remarks the magazine has made.
People look at the cover to decide whether or not they want to buy it
Only to a certain degree
Because it’s a still image and not moving
In conclusion most males and females aged up to 30 enjoy watching adventure films. The most favourite reason for watching a film is the genre. The most interesting thing in a teaser trailer for males is the pace and editing and for females it the mise-en-scene. Most males and females prefer to see the characters and actors names in the teaser trailer with males equally preferring to see a variety of camera shots. Film posters and billboards have affected the majority of people's choice of film. Both males and females find that the image is the most important thing on poster and they agree that poster advertising is effective. At the same time they agreed that magazine front covers have no effected their choice of film and the image is the most important part of a magazine front cover. Most males think that magazine advertising is effective, but females are uncertain.
